    The best way to prevent copy is to check each and every candidate before entering in the examination hall.This may take much time,but should be done .All electronic appliances such as mobile,ipod etc should not be allowed in the exam hallor electronic equipment detectors (with alarm) should be equipped in the concerned premises.

    Change exam system to 'open book' system and allow books and ipods. Questions should be set to make students think. Present questions are of 'copy-paste' type. Many will find 'clever' ways to copy.
    Adopting new system may be a long process but should start somewhere sometime.

    It is true that students are always smarter in cheating than the examination moderators or the examination boards who are there to stop them from happening. The examination moderators should be given courses on preventing cheating. Also they should make sure that the 3 hours of the examination is like a war zone for each moderator and every student should be stopped from cheating, also punishments should be reduced.

    If the students are using hitech, the same can be used to stop it.
    (Katyane kata kadhava tase)

    If possible with close circuit tv camera should be installed in each exam hall.
    If camera in each exam hall is not possible then other solution could be that all candidates gather in one single big hall with 10-15 moderators and 3 or 4 cameras (like in shopping malls) and cameras watched by police in other room.

    Change exam format to open book and let them bring textbooks, ipods whatever then want. Exam questions should be set such that open book or closed book should not make any difference.

    Installing close circuit camera would be a high budget proposal.

    I think, to change the education system is better option. It is difficult to accept the 'CHANGE' for all people and students but that is the best option if we think for long term. Because you can do check up of all students entering through hall/school main gate. And we can prevent student making copy using any electronic item. But technology is moving ahead.. we will try to stop this thing.. also we will succeed in stoping copy using iPod/mobile. But overall the papers question are set such way that student to copy and paste from their brain to anwser sheet. This will last long to be called as brilliance. Brilliance come when you apply that knowledge. that is why you will see many of 10th or 12th mirit holder students dont succeed in their life. Because once you enter bachlors education you will find that 'application'/'practice' is important. So students who has done mugging are failed in first year of engineerin/medical. Our education system won't accept the dranstic change to open book exam but we can one thing,we can ask board to change policies and recommend paper setter to add question which will make student apply their knowledge. Like give the question with some formula. And leave the upto student how to resolve that problem. or how to answer. This strategy may not be applied for subject like History or language but we can apply this strategy to mathematics and science subject. This way our system can move towards forcing student think practicle/applicable. Education system's policcies should make student SMART and Knowlegeble. Right now, student gets marks depends on how much do you KNOW, not really how to apply it or what to do with that knowledge.

    Mr. Ranade,

    If open book system is allowed, how would majority of students in India get passed?
    How would politicians like Lalu Yadav and Sharad Pawar get degrees?
    How would we be able to generate thousands of educated unemployed "degreed" fools who can not even write an application form?
    How would people like Mr. Patangrao Kadam open new money churning institutes that even allow students who have 35% marks?
    Please remember, the education in India is NOT for the benefit of the students. It is for the benefit of all of the above mentioned thugs.
    That is the reason all such educated fools with degrees can not write a single complete correct sentence in English.
    Just see the depth of knowledge and communication of our Teachers. They are there, because they get no other job. Funnily, most of the jobs pay more than a teacher’s job (and a teacher’s job should ideally be “The” most highly paid job). Almost all teachers join the institutes by bribing people like Mr. Kadam. Most of them are selected not because they are intelligent, because they either are from the caste of the ruling party’s majority of ministers, or because they bribe.
    Let these guys pass with copy. In corporate world, we take our revenge. At first glance, we know how this guy might have passed in college. You can see the transition literally: confusion->more confusion->embarrassment when you ask them a question which needs thinking. Then the mark sheets do not matter. Then being of the ruling party’s caste or being a beneficiary of the quota system has no value. The rejection comes swift and back-breaking. The only option then remains is joining an education institute as a teacher.

Format of Question paper , Scope & Limitations of the Sullabi
