Stop subsidies to oil companies. Divert this subsidy to public transport companies like State transport, City transport & railways etc. Reduce the public transportation fares by 50%; compensate this loss to public transport companies by giving subsidy. Bring-up oil prices to market level i.e. at actual. Those who have personal vehicle will buy oil at market price. This will help in reducing personal use of vehicles & increase in public transport because it now very cheap. This will result less number of vehicles on road, less pollution and less import of oil. In short reform the subsidies. Subsidies to be given to public transport companies would be definitely less than to those oil companies. Both will be benefited – government and "Aam aadmi" (Common man)

    1. Bharat ( India) should have national transport policy( not in favour of auto manufacturer giants)
    2. Control on manufacturing all types of vehicles.
    3. Scrap old vehicle which are not fuel efficient
    4. Scrap/minimise official use of vehicle by Govt officials/Ministers/ Politicians
    5. Public must be motivated to : use public transport/ bicycle/ walk
    6. school/ college-goers not to be issued driving licence/ school authorities to ban/ discourage use of automobile by students
    7. Central govt to invest in clean energy sources( hydel, bio-diesel, solar/ wind etc). UPA govt has not addressed this issues adequately

Currently if we can not earn Petrol, we should at least save it. As like China we should also start using Bicycles more.

Why we are not thinking about other resources why we are so dependant on petrol when we have a god gifted solar energy. We should encourage more usage of this energy as it is free for us. We should invest more in research of this energy. When countries like Germany, US, UK, are looking at this as a positive alternative for Petrol, and investing thousands of $$ in the research. Point to remember these countries do not have ample of the solar Energy. Why India is so behind in this run. There should be some alternative for petrol else the prices would keep on rising like this.

Many times People using there own Vehicles when thhere is no proper Public transport.
1)In Austria there is only one ticket which one can use for local transport i mean same ticket for Train & BUS.
2)Bicycles are allowed to carry in local train & there is Special arrangement for that.
I think if we provides such facilites many people prefers Public transport instend of using there own vehicles.

To tackle petrol price hike situation we "the peoples" and "P.M.C." can work in tandem. We can develop a good transportation plan for our city.

    Here are few points..

    1) For distance not more than 3 kms. try to use bicycle.

    2) For distance above 3 kms. first see the available choices we can use BRT, PMT.

    3) Try to avoid use of vehicle if you are traveling alone.

    4) If you are going to office, have to use your bike and traveling alone then search for a travel partner. That will reduce one extra vehicle on road and also helps you in cost cutting.

    5) PMC should implement better PMT and BRT network.

    6) There is need of Metro line, in Pune we can implement it on riverside.

    7) PMC can promote use of bicycles by providing better cycle tracks.

    8) There are few common suggestions, such as shut your engine off on signals etc.

    9) For grocery shopping and to visit nearby places, try to avoid use of vehicle.

    10) There are few Solar and electric motor engine options are also available. e.g. Reva, Yo bike

Vehicle sharing is the best option that we all can implement.

We can't generate the petrol but at least we can save it.

    1.Give subsidy to public transportation.
2.Give subsidy to electricity run motor vehicles e.g. Reva Co. @ Banglore, Mahindra & Mahindra and other those cos. which manufacture electricity run vehicles.
3.increase the level of mixing of ethanol to 25 %.
4.Popularise the use of bycycles specially among students. Make them health conscious.

Now onwards its going to rise. The general public will may not be able to afford it. The one best solution on it that use the local transport like Railway, PMPML etc. And use your bikes for shorter time. Satrting walking.. which will be benefited for keeping health better.

    Regards
    Upendra

Due to lack of adequate public transport there is traffic chaos in the city. So allow private operators to run the 20 seats buses. PMC should take the help of Transport Company.

The two wheelers registration every year increase every year in pune. Minimum age for driving licenses is 24 years.

Limit the no of vehicles in the house.

Remove the subsidy on petrol and divert it to city transport.

Promote EBykes, Bycycles, Invest on solar energy. Restrict veichles on road by regulating like china i.e on Odd days, odd no. veichles and one even days, even no. veichles are allowed on road.

Encourage pool of cars, Public transport. We have to concentrate on non conventional energy sources.

I'm writing this from Germany. I have seen many people use cycle for commuting. Not only in Germany but this I have seen in Belgium, Natherlands also. I've seen three storied cycle stand in Amsterdam which shows the use of cycle in this country. I would like to suggest that, we should start using cycles where ever and whenever possible in India especially when fuel prices are so high. Good for health also.

People in other countries do not believe the Cars as status symbol they use it as per the need basis.
In India we believe it as a status symbol and everybody dreams about it.

Look at the Trucks passing nearby you, so old stuff, inefficient system sucks the fuel and emits black smoke always. It does not give the distance for the amount of fuel it eats.

Can you imagine the status after 20 years from now.
Indian population is more than 110 Crores, People are well informed about the technologies in rural areas also (see the example of mobile phones).
If everybody starts dreaming about cars then?

Impose surcharge of 50000 on all cars sold. Also, similar surcharge on all bikes which are more than 100CC. This way everybody who is going to consume petrol for luxry use will have to pay the surcharge upfront at vehicle level. Offcourse the automakers lobby will oppose it but this is the best way to control unwanted usage and also recover subsidy given on petrol. Simply putting I don't want government to pay people for using petrol for luxry use like car and 180CC bikes from my tax money.

Large amount of ethanol can be produced from the Suger industry as a by product. Govenrment should help to install ethanol projects at each Sugar factory & buy the ethanol to mix with petrol. By mixing ethanol with petrol we can reduce petrol import. This will also help farmers as they will get more price for Sugarcane.

I think, all the big shots (cinestars, cricketiers etc.) should be forced to act in the bicycles advertisements. The younge generation especially the kids follow the trend very quickly. For a change, Govt should use the publicity of theses stars and media for some creative things.

If Indian Govt. Possess heaavy loss
with Petrol Diesel and Gas Subsidy
there is not ultimate solution to hike the prices , Govt. should manage this subsidy losses by decresing of MP`s and MLA`s and Govt. Officer Salaries and their other Benifits
This Hike Ultimate efftect on Poor and middle class people of india because if Ptrol Diesel prices hike then Transportation prices alos hikes and if Gas price hike also littlle Hotel onwer Tapari should be effected

    Bio-Diesel? Bio-Gas? BIG NO NO.
    Unnatural things create unnatural diseases.

Natural Diseal, Petrol? Strict laws on moter manufacturers especially those using Diseal 6-8 seaters. Force Motors (former Bajaj) has done more damage to Pune Air than creating any good for public. Pune should ban all diseal vehicles in its 50 km radius.

Price Rise for Diseal, Petrol? GOOD sign to curb usage. Petrol and diseal should be Rs 100/- per liter instead of present Rs 50/-
Users will use calculated petrol, use less so less pollution, so saving natural resources, so less lung related diseases, clean air!

    Defeat Congress, Save INDIA!

The Govt coolly washes its hands off this issue by refusing to lower production cess & other taxes & passes on the entire burden to the consumers coz the govt NEVER TIGHTENS its BELT.It squanders so much money on travels of ministers, bureaucrats & the retinue of 50 other cars in the ministerial cavalcade.
Let them set some examples too before relelntlessly increasing the prices regularly.
It is time to change the govt itself which is just doling out the largesse of Rs.71000/crores in the name of farmers, when most of this amount NEVER reaches the real needy & is usurped by the politicians.
Time to change the totally inefficient & incompetent govt itself!
They are blaming every price hike in essential commodities too on global scenario!Same time, huge projects like Nanded city & on EEZs are being launched on land usurped from poor farmers!

    YOU THINK WE ARE STUPID?

ExxonMobil reported a record profit of $40 billion last year!! Average price of Gasoline in US is $3.94 per gallon.

New price of petrol in New Delhi is reported as Rs.52 per liter i.e. 52 * 3.80 = Rs 197 per gallon or $4.64 (using exchange rate of 42.5 which is also artificially weakened for exporter's lobby). Where the hell are the so called "huge" losses for the petroleum companies coming from? Mind you, the average US price includes of a taxes in it.

Yes, we need public transport and bicycle tracks and all that but we have said that hundred times before . How come there is not a single post calling the government's bluff?

Indians are good in math, yeah right!!!!

THERE IS AN OPTION / OPEN REQUEST

Rates of petrol, diesel, gas are touching sky. These are the stocks which are going to be vanished.

Still we have lot of other natural energies which will not going to vanish.

I have an experiment whereas I feel that we will be able to drive a bike on natural energy. I am facing a problem that is as follows:

I have instable input of AC voltage/Current. I wish to use step up transformer to increase voltage. It increases voltage however at the same time it drops current.

If anyone can give solutions for the same. I think that my design will work. Of course this is at a basic stage, lot of improvements are needed to be done.

If you know an answer of the query please send it to me at sunitmyadav@gmail.com

    Thanks

Taxes can be definitely reduced to some extent… More importantly…. .kharcha Pani of these netas must be reduced!!!!! !!!! What say??? These may control the prices.

Following is the article from well known Newspaper.

Find the detail break-up of the Final price of petrol available at fuel pumps.

This is a break up considering crude oil at 130 $ per barrel. Following details are for per liter petrol in Rs.

    Basic Price = 21.93

    Excise duty = 14.35

    Education Tax = 00.43

    Dealer commission = 01.05

    VAT = 05.50

Crude Oil Custom duty = 01.10

    Petrol Custom = 01.54

    Transportation Charge = 06.00

    Total price = Rs 51.90

So for a Rs 22 liter petrol at pumps we people pay Rs 28 tax extra.

Govt. is thinking to impose more price hike to curtain with the current crude oil bubble in International oil crisis.

Compare Europe $11.5 per US Gallon for Diesel which means Rs 127 per Liter. Europe is like us. It Imports all oil from other countries. Need to see forward & don't delay on IPI gas pipeline, Nuclear Deal along with promotion on Wind , Solar energy than thinking of 2009 elections. If Oil companies loose on subsidiry then they will not have money to
bid for remaining oil fields in Myanmmar, Africa which we can easily loose to China. At that time India will not have oil even though we ailling to pay Rs 1000 per litre. Think long term than short term.

blend 24 % ethanol in Petrol.

Initiate 10 % ethanol blending in Diesel

    Start using Bio-Diesel

-Youg people should start driving bicycle which ultimately helps to>>
    -Redeuce Pollution
    -Save Petrol
    -Maintain your health
-Say good bye to dieseases like cholestoral increment, heart problem and burn extra pounds

Alternative is to use electrical vehicle like Yo bikes.
    - Do not leave your motorcycle ON when traffic signal is RED.
    - local govt bodies like PMC should perform pollution test in big vehicles which consumes lot of diesel, petrol and highly responsible in increasing pollution.

Except in India & in USA, in other countries petrol rate per litre are much lower, for example in Malaysia petrol is approx 35 per litre, in Pakistan its 44/- Rs per litre, in China petrol is 25/- Per litre.

Subsidiary is a worste concept introduced in India earlier. Its not possible to with draw subsidiary any soon now.

All the best to all politicians!
