Pune Univercity Circle Traffic Problem, and the answer
Idea of having six lanes on karve road is good to visualise but is it feasible? We will have to think an option of through out flyover.
on that road

Even I say, there should be fly over all over the city.

Dear Mr Editor,
I read your esteemed newspaper everyday and find your articles very interesting and educative.
I would like to make certain suggestions regarding the traffic diversion at Abhimanshreee Co-op soc.University Road, Pune.
A number of people travel from Sakal Nagar, Armament Colony via Abhimanshree Soc to ARDE, Pashan, NCA & Chandani Chowk..The traffic which has been diverted to Ahimamshree Soc. from both University & Chandani Chowk/ Pashan goes at very high speed around 60-80 km/hr and they are using both the lanes i.e the lane adjacent to Abhimandhree Gates & Bhuwaneshwar society. Since both ways are being used the traffic moves at high speed and causes traffic jam further at Skoda Chowk & Sindh society. As a result pedestrians and traffic coming from Sakal Nagar going towards Pashan have to face life and death experiences as traffic comes at very high speed.
I would suggest that they put "Take left turn" boards as soon as the traffic turns into Abhimanshree Soc. to let the traffic know that they have to use only one lane i.e Bhuavaneshwar soc. road to go towards Aundh. This will allow pedestrians and traffic to move safely and by making one way it will not cause traffic jam further at Sindh Society. They should also put speed limit boards and No horn boards.
Earlier buses were not permitted to go via Abhimanshree Soc. This was a good job done as this resulted in less traffic jam.But for the last 2 days Heavy vehicles and Volvo Buses are using the road. Traffic police and marshals should be kept to control the situation.
Your paper has always worked towards common man's problems. I hope you will put this matter in your newspaper as well as communicate to the traffic police about our problems and give them the above suggestions.
Thanking you,
Gauri
I thik,Driving from Wrong side is aloud in India!nobody care about it,Everyone is in hurry & want to reach at their destination on time ignoring risks cozed by them!
And that makes India more risky in case of driving!
There will be no problem if every one drives carefully.
Every person driving on the streets should Remember That Roles are made for our Safety! If every one care about it, any travel in our country will be safe for us all.
I am not aware about the layout of Governor's house, but I am sure if a passage is possible through it, then traffic could be diverted via Police ground through Governor's house to Pune University gate and onward as today. This arrangement could save lot of time petrol diesel etc.
