I have respect for Mr. Mohandas Gandhi but not for his methods.

I think this is redecules without any reason u blow the horn so ,why other would suffer, that should be stop somewere other wise it will cost more for human life, & to stop this, everyone has to support 100%.otherwise traffice police has to make some strick rules to control on this.

It is really unfortunate that the motorist are not sensitive to such an act.An education at the time of licencing would help.Further an effective law enforcement would pay.Even in a developed country like USA law abiders are high in percentage because of an effective law enforcement mechanism.

One way I used to use (when somebody was honking from behind at the traffic signal) was to give an utterly dirty look by staring for atleast 7-8 seconds at the culprit. Do it twice or thrice, the next times for a couple of seconds only. (Warning: Don't do this if you are not as heavily built as I am). This is especially helpful if it is a car standing beside you and you have to peek into it to look at the driver. Firstly because, car owners are more sophisticated and secondly, the effort of looking at the driver by leaning really makes it like an extreme act.

this is an excellent undertaking.i am staying in Canada for last 3 months.and i have not heard a single honk on the busiest crowded roads on which thousands of vehicle are plying .surprisingly the city and country has a thick population of Indians.who are praised here as a law obedient residents. what an agony!it is the attitude! (that needs to be changed.)the same countrymen are irresponsibles in our own mother land!the sparks of hopes is Pooniets who have a tendency to accept good and reject bad.if this movement is widened to educate the common man, for its serious effects on human body medically, particularly on infants, children, patients, pregnant, old agers, then every one will understand the seriousness of this honk mania.if this is not sufficient, then govt.and public particularly police should use and show their legal and muscle power. this is not an overnight task, but well begin is half done.this movement has a good potential for improvement.so expand it with the help of anything!my best wishes. a patriot

"Punekar" is another name for whimsical people.

Anyone who wants to become famous starts this kind of campaigns & pity is that gets "world-famous" in Pune.

While I appreciate that the honking menace has to stop I have completely different POV on this. Especially with reference to the Point on Income Tax Lane where these boards are put. If any one moves around that area he/she will appreciate that blowing a horn at all intersections on this lane is A MUST! For, that's the only way the sppeding vehicles on the income tax lane might get cautious. The lanes here are completely blind and either party has no clue of what's coming their way. I make it a point to honk and have been proved wise a coupla of times. I feel there should be "Blow Horn" signs at such junctions instead! And talking about Canada/ other countries, there's a STOP sign at the end of a lane where everyone comes to a dead halt, looks anr proceeds. Do we have it in India?? Therefore there has to be a movement to Promote Honking at the right place, right time. Especially near Sahakar Sadan

Believe me,only laws can control such things.Polite appeals to people do not make any sence in India especially in Pune.
